Top 4 Reasons to Choose Dental Implants

Improved Quality of Life. Dental implants will make your smile look like new again so you can feel confident in your ability to eat, laugh, and live without worrying about your dentures or missing teeth.
Secure Comfort. Dental Implants are surgically placed in the jaw bone where they integrate with the bone. You will never have to worry about messy denture pastes or creams again! Your implants won't move or slip so you can live a normal life!
Preserve Facial Shape and Jawbone Integrity. Bone loss in the jaw occurs almost immediately after loosing a tooth. Without the root to stimulate it, the jawbone will eventually dissolve to a point where the cheeks and lips are no longer supported. This can cause an aged, shrunken appearance. Implants preserve bone and help maintain facial integrity.
Healthy Teeth Are Unaffected. Bridges require the grinding down of health adjacent teeth and can often be uncomfortable to wear. Dental implants will not affect healthy teeth and can actually help prevent further tooth loss due to jaw bone deterioration.

Wisdom Teeth in Cincinnati, OH

Wisdom Teeth Extraction in Cincinnati, OH
Wisdom teeth are molars which tend to erupt in the late teens to early twenties. While wisdom teeth may grow in straight and without incident for many, some patients will require wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Al-Zubi performs wisdom tooth extractions to relieve you of the pain and overcrowding of impacted wisdom teeth.

When is Wisdom Teeth Removal Necessary?

Wisdom teeth removal is not recommended in all cases, only in those patients who are experiencing problems as a direct result of these third molars.

• You feel pain or have infected gums due to your wisdom teeth.
• The wisdom teeth are making it more difficult to keep your teeth clean.
• You have impacted wisdom teeth.

What Are Impacted Wisdom Teeth?

Impacted wisdom teeth are basically wisdom teeth that cannot fully grow in due to space restrictions. Wisdom teeth erupt behind the second molars in both the upper and lower jaw. Before your wisdom teeth erupt, you normally have 28 teeth. Depending upon the size of your mouth and the spacing of your teeth, you may not have room for these four late bloomers. When wisdom teeth cannot fully erupt, they are referred to as impacted wisdom teeth. In this case, wisdom tooth extraction must be performed to prevent pain, tooth damage, and overcrowding.

What is the Procedure for Wisdom Tooth Extractions?

Wisdom tooth extractions may be performed with local anesthetic or general anesthetic, based upon the number of teeth extracted and the severity of the impaction. Dr. Al-Zubi will make an incision into the gum tissue to uncover the impacted wisdom tooth and clear away any bone that impedes its removal. Wisdom tooth extractions can be performed by removing the entire tooth in one piece or in fragments, if necessary.

If you are experiencing any pain in your jaw or inflammation of gum tissue due to your impacted wisdom teeth, contact our office to schedule a consultation for wisdom tooth removal with Dr. Al-Zubi.
